China city is a very small but special place! The service is by far friendlier than any other Chinese restaurant I've been to. The dine in area is quiet and homey, a perfect place for a date or for a writer looking to get some quiet time.

Lily makes the freshest Chinese food around. Fresh veggies. The wings are the best. Kung Pao chik is fantastic. Well recommended.

UNBELIEVABLE! Are you kidding me? It takes 1.5+ hours to deliver an order (at least, would've been two if we actually wanted to go through with the order). Since your delivery driver got lost, here are the directions. Take Griffin Rd down to Davie Rd, turn left onto Davie Rd and drive down. It took me a total of 5 seconds to pull it up on Google Maps. This is not even a review of the food because there was no food we could review. I'm really not sure how you ended up with 4 stars, but it's a shame we won't try your food because of this experience. Not sure how you find it acceptable to want to still charge me full price (52+ tip) for food and accept the food after an hour and a half + of me waiting for it. It certainly didn't help telling us that you sent your driver out with three meals and ours was the last. I understand a bad night, I even understand maybe being 15 minutes late. But when you tell me 45 minutes and it takes double+ that time, come on. To add insult to injury, you want to blame me and tell me I don't live in Davie? I gave you the address before you even took my order, how does that even make sense? Best part, "Oh no don't worry you didn't get charged I didn't even run your card, you check online it won't show up". Right, didn't take you very long to charge me for food you can't even deliver. No redemption. Maybe it's not much, but you won't be receiving our business or anyone we know.

The food was good, the service was great. It is family owned and operated and they have a young man working there who is FANTASTIC!!! Their servings are very big, especially the fish dinner, which was HUGE!

Absolutely NO FLAVOR at all! The krab rangoons were basically just triangular egg rolls, no crab or cream cheese. The chicken with garlic sauce was bland, tasted like chicken and vegetables in plain water. The only redeeming aspect of the Szechuan chicken was that it wasn't greasy (which just means it lacked flavor). You would think that General Tso's chicken is a staple of any Chinese restaurant, but China City proved us wrong. It had a very different taste and not in a good way. Even the rice was not up to par. Overall, very disappointed and would not return.

Wow just had the chicken with garlic-spicey. Got order to go, staff was very friendly even though almost closing time. Entree was very colorful unlike garlic chickens I've had in the past. Also, there was no skimping on the meat. Way more meat than most places would serve. I will def be back.

I have been picking up food from here for about the past year now, and have been very satisfied with the portion, taste and price. They are very friendly and attentive. This is a family run restaurant which makes it very nice. My favorites are Vegetable Lo Mein, Vegetable Chow Mein, Chicken and Vegetables off the healthy menu with brown sauce. Definitely try them out.

First time trying this restaurant. Delivery order. The service on the phone was an excellent start. Not rushed at all. The person repeated my entire order and asked all the right questions. This is not always the case when ordering delivery so right from the start I had a pleasant experience. Ordered ham fried rice, orange chicken, wonton soup and an egg roll. Everything showed up piping hot and very nicely presented. Obviously made to order and packaged with pride. They even through in a free order of fried wontons (very nice touch). All the food was to my liking. Not greasy. All the ingredients in the rice were fresh. The orange chicken was presented with fresh orange slices. Fresh orange flavor coming through strong. Nothing but good things to say. A perfect Chinese delivery experience; priced right. So glad I found China City!

The general tsao chicken was not like it should be. This was breaded very thick like a chicken tender. Wonton soup was very good though. No veg in the fried rice

I saw the menu for this place online and it looked great. We went in about 8:00 on a Sunday night, (they close at 10) and there were two booths with people eating and two people waiting for takeout. We waited up front for someone to come greet and seat us and noticed that the remaining booths were empty but nobody had cleared the dirty tables. We waited for 15 minutes and nobody came out from the kitchen. The guys waiting for take out said they had been waiting for almost an hour for their order. I guess one person does it all in this place which is a shame because I wanted to give this place a try. I know I will not be back. Went to Benihana instead.

This place is located in a very nondescript strip mall adjacent to a community that boasts a large (and loud) peacock population. But don't let the obscure location turn you off, the food is great! It is owned by a woman and its mostly her family that is employed here, my family and I started eating here after our favorite Chinese place (Mandarin Village in Plantation) closed down. The prices are extremely affordable and the portions are huge! You will not be let down by this place.

I've been dining at China City since they opened. China City is a family owned and operated restaurant. The father is the cook. The mother is the waitress. The kids typically help around the restaurant. They treat their customers like family and establish personal relationships. I've had many things on their menu but my favorite is the pork lo mein. I always order the pork lo mein by combination - whether it's for lunch or dinner. The combination includes: soup, egg roll, rice and desert. The food is always fresh and consistent. I'd say - it's the best Chinese food in the area. Rumor has it, Lilly grows the vegetables at home. Overall - The food is ALWAYS delicious. The service is always good (but would be "great" if they hired more employees). The prices are more than reasonable.

Is a small place but there is nothing small about the tastes. Nice variety of dishes. Had been so long since have had really good chinese food I had forgotten how light and flavorable it can be. The egg drop soup actually had a great flavor without being "thick". I had the cashew shrimp....it actually had a lot o chashews and shrimp. So much food I didn't even make a dent. We went last night....going back tonight.

Do not order delivery from this place. I ordered food at 8:50 they told me that it would be about 30 to 40 minutes. We live directly behind the restaurant. Literally 2 minutes away. It took over an hour. When I called the restaurant to complain the lady on the phone said they were really busy.. If you are that busy tell people the actual time. Completed disappointment. Will not order from this place again. Completely ridiculous.

In this small 9-table Chinese restaurant, a mother and her family treat their customers like family. Very friendly & they really want you to feel welcome. 'Mom' runs the show but the rest of the kids talk to everyone & take care of the tables. The portions are huge, affordable & colorful. Flavors were better than most other Chinese restaurants in the area (something we miss). We had Orange Chicken, Chicken Lo Mein, Chicken in Garlic sauce and Beef with Green Beans as our entrees and various soups that were all good along with dumpling that were HUGE. The decorations could use a little updating but what you would expect at a small Chinese restaurant. Keep up the good work...we will be back. :-)

Packed on Christmas night with mostly seniors, we were hoping we had at least found some decent Chinese food in Southwest Broward. After several years of trying mediocre or just bad places, we had really given up. What were we to do when my beloved NY Football Giants won (a longstanding family tradition!) Pretty basic menu....The noodles were homemade, crisp, & delish.....great with cold sweet duck sauce. My hot & sour soup was spicy & a bit sweet, definitely less "sour"than that soup often is. Rest if the family had wonton or "mixed" soup: tasty & not too salty! Steamed dumplings were six to an order and huge!! Good flavor. I would order them fried next time. Sometimes the healthier option is just not worth it. Portions of mains were huge & much was taken home after all the apps. We got: Orange Chicken Beef with String Beans Chicken with Garlic Sauce Chicken Lo Mein All the veggies in the dishes were fresh & not too well done. The sauces were not too heavy. I did think the beef was a bit salty...I would stick to the chicken dishes. Next time will try a seafood dish. The place is owned & run by a very warm & friendly family. For basic Americanized Chinese food, it is pretty good. Both kids loved it and gave it a 5. We will be back (hopefully on many Sunday nights next year!) They also deliver in the neighborhood.

Solid 4 plus stars for Chinese China City. Searched Yelp for good Chinese food to celebrate my family's last day here visiting me. Located by a gym in a strip mall on the south side of Griffin road in Cooper City. Few tables inside with red lanterns and fun Asian decor. I called ahead and ordered delivery but my sister had to eat earlier and I offered to pick it up. Ps- delivery time would've been the same in time if not better cause the owner answered the phone and took a full delivery order while I was standing there waiting to pay, my order was waiting for me when I arrived. I ordered the General Tso chicken dinner. Thin pieces of slightly crunchy fried chicken, lots of sauce, some veg but too crunchy for me. The dinner meals come with an egg roll and, side of pork fried rice or white rice. The eggrolls -were vegetable and very good. Nice crispy fried crust , cabbage and veggies inside. We asked for the plum sauce and duck sauce, and spicy mustard which was amazingly hot, the perfect mustard. Pork fried rice didn't have much flav nor bits of veggie, but works great as a side as there is sauce on everything. My husband ordered the Beef Broccoli which came thin strips of beef and tender broccoli way better than in my chicken. The to -go plastic containers are big and hold a mountain of the pork fried rice. He ate the whole dinner minus half the rice, yes there was that much. My sister ordered the BBQ Ribs and Fantail shrimp. This comes decent sized ribs on the bone, and tempura fried shrimp were underneath (can't tell from my pic). She shared with me and my mom, the ribs and shrimp are both tasty. **in addition to the dinner I saw the lady added fried imitation krab wontons of some sort complimentary to our order. Tasty, but I wouldn't order it. I would order Chinese food here again. Good portions, good food, good prices - 3 dinner meals came to 30$ oh and you get a fortune cookie too of course.

I was pleasantly surprised here. With the exception of one other Chinese restaurant, I have had nothing but bad experiences with the Chinese food in the area. The place was the first place that I have been where when I was finished with my food, I was saying, "wow that was good and it was worth what I paid!" I came by for lunch one afternoon, trying to get as far away from my desk as possible. I was in the mood for Orange chicken, and thought I would give this place a try. As I looked over the lunch menu, I noticed that they didn't have Orange chicken listed, so I was kind of bummed. When the server came by, I mentioned that I wanted to try it, but it wasn't listed. She said they can make that for me, and I was very happy about that. The food arrived to the table starting with the Wonton soup. Wow, was that piping hot, but so good. It was a little chilly outside, so I didn't mind. Florida has made me a weather wimp, so I get cold when the temp drops below 75 anymore. Just as I was finishing up the soup, the chicken arrived and it was very nicely plated. There were orange slices as a garnish, which gave it a festive presentation. I took my first bite and was then really surprised. It was excellent. I have to admit I have low expectations with chicken because most of it I have tried in the area have been not too stellar. It's rare for the chicken to even taste like chicken at all. It mostly taste like I call, "Wood Chicken Sysdrome" or WDS. Imagine my surprise when I bit into it and it tasted like actual chicken, and it was tender and juicy to boot! After this experience, I will definitely hit this place up for lunch again. It was really a nice lunch and priced just right. I will definitely sample some other menu items in hopes that I have another option finally for solid Chinese food in the area!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
